SPOT

Pacha Surf Beach is especially ideal for beginner and intermediate kitesurfers due to its wide sandy beach, waist deep water and steady side-onshore wind. The sand is incredibly smooth without any rocks or shells. The sea is calm and you will have a mix of flat water, chop and small waves. There are no reefs or rocks, which makes the spot one of the safest kite spots in the world.

At the kite center you will have everything you need: Launch and landing assistance, rescue service, storage, changing cabins and an own kite area to pack, wash and dry your kite gear. Our Beach Bar offers cocktails and food, comfortable sunbeds, hammocks and swings. You have access to toilets and showers.

On top we are one of the few kite centers along the Velika Plaza, that aims to make sure there are no swimmers in the kite zone during any windy hours of the day.

A few kilometers downwind there is a river mouth with perfect flat (calm) water. It is one of the best flat water spots you will ever find! Due to a bit of current, this spot is only for advanced kitesurfer.

SEASON AND KITE SIZES

From May through September, the Albanian Alps in the south bring steady thermal winds that hit the coast in the early afternoon at 16 to 22 knots. This usually requires a kite size of 9-12m2 during high season (mid-June to end-August) and a larger kite size of 12-15m2 during low season (May to mid-June and September).

If you come in July or August, wetsuits are not necessary unless you easily sunburn. During the months of May and September, we advise that kitesurfers wear a long wetsuit (2/3) or shorty.

WIND AND TIDES

The wind usually kicks in like a clock during the early hours of the afternoon. Thus, in the mornings you can relax or explore the beautiful nature in the surrounding area. Our team is happy to give advice on where to go and what to see! As tides don’t exist in Montenegro, you can start kiting whenever the wind kicks in.

In a normal windy season, we will have 4-6 days of wind from 12 knots or more during the months of May until mid September. The best months for kiting are June, July and August. April can also be a very good month, however all kite schools open in May or June. If you visit Montenegro outside of the kite season, write us an email as we will still be kiting and also giving lessons.
